Digital Educational Competence




The National Institute of Educational Technologies and Teacher Training is the Unit of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training that works in collaboration with administrations and educational institutions to move towards a digitally competent education in three areas:

Digital Competence of Educational Centers: aims to develop guidelines that guide schools to become digitally competent educational organizations. To this end, we collaborate with international institutions in the piloting of online self-assessment tools for centers, diagnostic guides, reports and other studies are designed. In a complementary manner, given that the effectiveness and sustainability of individual actions is limited, the training offered by INTEF in relation to this topic aims to link teaching interventions to their context, promoting the culture of learning and working centers. digitally
Teaching Digital Competence: in this scope of work the Common Framework and the Digital Teaching Competence Portfolio are developed and improved, a service for the improvement of the digital competency of the teaching staff through the continuous self-evaluation and the updated and ordered compilation of teaching, learning and training experiences. In addition, all scientific and methodological updating activities and, in short, professional development designed by the INTEF imply, to varying degrees, the progress or strengthening of this teaching competence in any of its areas.

Digital Competence of Students: this field of work is focused on analyzing this competence in students of all educational levels, designing studies and reports, as well as launching training and collaboration initiatives with families in the acquisition and development of the digital competence of the student body.

Estancias profesionales is a European mobility program organized by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training through the INTEF aimed at fostering professional and cultural exchanges between schools and teachers in different European countries and aimed at teachers who teach non-university education regulated by the LOE. It is developed through two initiatives, one aimed at teachers and the other at centers.




Professional stays for teachers
The program of professional stays for teachers is an initiative through which the selected teachers have the possibility of making stays of two weeks in educational centers in Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom, Republic from Ireland and Switzerland, which offers them the opportunity to learn about different educational systems and formulas for the organization and management of centers, as well as to expand their teaching and learning strategies for a foreign language or a foreign language. These stays include a € 1,300 grant for participants that are managed through a call that is published on an annual basis.

On the other hand, and in a complementary manner, also on an annual basis, a deadline for the submission of applications is open for all schools supported by public funds from all over the country that are willing to accept teachers who participate in a mobility program similar from the same countries included in the call for teachers.

Both programs aim to promote a better command of foreign languages, the exchange of good teaching practices, promote a greater appreciation of European cultural diversity and promote joint projects among the educational community in Europe.
